Philipians 1:6, 'He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion in the day of Jesus Christ." Our Saviour is our surety-our guarantor-of the gift of grace. He has perfect follow through. He doesn't fail. We know what awaits us, but sometimes the terrain is unsure and the fog rolls in, so we strain to see and even wonder if we will ever complete our journey home. We have the assurance that Christ will follow through in our lives as believers.

Psalm 23:2-3, “He leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley.” We are sheep who need a Shepherd; we are lost without Him. Given a choice, most of us will take the path of least resistance. Isaiah 26:3, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mine is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” We can experience no true peace when we’re at war with God. Peace is not based on the circumstances we think about but on the truth we steady our minds upon. If we fix our minds on all that might go wrong, we will anxiously work to never miss a step. When we fix our minds on Jesus and trust Him, we find He gives lasting peace that he not only secures, but sustains.
