Final-Semester Review

Doers of the Word.

In other words, we must apply what we hear.

Today we are going to have our Semester review, pop quiz. Easy question for everyone:

Philippians 4:11-13 (TPT) Paul is our great example of this. 11 I'm not telling you this because I'm in need, for I have learned to be satisfied in any circumstance.

12-13 I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance.

For I’m trained in the seret of overcoming all things. Whether in fullness or in hunger.And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.”

What level of contentment are you presently living ?

5) What is the 2nd key ingredient necessary to live an abundant life? # 2: Joy.

Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV) “[Do not grieve], for the Joy of the Lord is your Strength.” “The Joy of the Lord” refers to God’s own Joy (More insight on Joy) The Impact of Joy. 1) Remember: Joy is Above your circumstance. 2) When we enter into God’s joy and gladness.

The door to much of Satan’s activity slams shut in our lives.

6) The joy of serving God keeps us from Compromise.  What is your honest response to this question: Am I living a cheerful life?

7) What is the 3rd key ingredient necessary to live an abundant life?

James 1:2 (GNT) “My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way,

*Let’s just pause right here and understand: This requires a Different Mindse!

James 1:3 (GNT) “for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials. The result is the ability to endure.” (Insight on discovering our true faith level) “We never know how much faith we have until it is tested!” -Joyce Meyer

The more our faith Is tested, the stronger it becomes, until finally we become people who can truly be content in all circumstances because we trust 

1)) It is rare to find an individual who can simply be content [to1 It is rare to find an individ ual wyho can simply be content to do gladly] what each day brings.

Serve the Lord with Gladness: Ps. 100:2 General will of God # 1:

2) We all desire change in certain areas of our lives.but it is important to enjoy where we are on the way to where we are going.

"We cannot or will not be happy if we are discontent every time our circumstances are less than perfect."

3)Peace and Joy are two of the most important qualities We a need to enjoy our life.

Simple insight for life: Folow Peace and Enjoy Lifc:   Roy Bennett says: “Learning to distance yourself from all the negativity is one of the greatest lessons to achieve inner peace." Summary: Key Ingredients necessary to live an Abundant Life: 1) Salvation (In Christ). 2) Peace: Phil, 4:6-7

4)Contentment: Nchemiah 8:10 God's Joy in You)

5) Faith in the middle of life's trials: James 1:2-3 (The No Matter What Mindset).

6) Grateful/Thankful Heart: 1 Thess. 5:16-18 (IV) 16 "Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances:for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Importance insight for all of us)

7) Enioy You! Love Yourself (Matt 2:39 (TPT). A great commandment. And the second is like it in importance: “You must love your friend in the same way you love yourself."

The secret to enjoying everyday life is to enjoy the person you are!

*Don't focus on your faults. Instead, focus on your good qualities and you do have good qualities. You have more good qualities than bad ones, and what you focus on will become the biggest thing to you.

Our Application question:

Have you been able to honestly answer this question:

Am living an abundant life in Christ?

What steps do I need to take to move  forward in His promises of Abundant Life?

Church Challenge:

Let’s move forward towards:

Judgements

God Judges

​

THE BIBLE PORTRAYS JUDGEMENT DIFFERENT THAN WE DO.

PSALM 98 ‘Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy before the LORD for he is coming to judge the earth  He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with fairness.‘

The God who Judges

  1. GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS NEEDED

There are things in this world that are wrong. No evil will permanently prevail.

Psalm 37. “But the descendants of the wicked

will be cut off. The righteous will

inherit the land and live in it forever. 

If you turn from evil and do good, you

will live safely forever.

For ADONAI loves justice and will not

abandon his faithful; they are

preserved forever.”

  1. GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS FAIR

Injustice is pointed out constantly. However Romansv13  says the “State” carries out judgements. However, that’s not complete. It is not Romans 2, God’s full JUSTICE.

“On the day when according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.”   Romans 2:16

Only his judgements are complete.

  1. God’s judgement shows we matter.

-the opposite of love is indifference and not always hate.

Prov 3:12 for Adonai corrects those he loves like a father who delights in his son.”

God cares HOW we live. He loves us enough to correct us.

  1. Gods judgement helps to make us less violent

His perfect judgements says we don’t have to seek out justice. Our imperfect justice today.

Romans 12:19 Never take your own revenge, ( beloved), but leave room for the wrath of God. “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”

We are directed to leave vengeance and punishment to God. He sees the big picture. He is NOT vindictive.

-Unfortunately we CAN be.

We don’t need an example, we need the judgements of . This brings the kingdom of God to US on a local and national/international level.

This doesn’t mean we don’t have an opinion or exercise a certain amount of action. We need to decide are our actions justice or “the pound of flesh”?We should ask God to guide our hand, not our minds or emotions. ( i.e. Charlie Kirk situation).

  1. God Delivers us from Judgement

  2. 1 Thess. 1:9-10 (CJB)

Be drenched in HIS love to be justified through His love.

 

Psalm 98

Sing a new song to the Lord,

for he has done wonderful deeds.

His right hand has won a mighty victory;

his holy arm has shown his saving power!

2 The Lord has announced his victory

and has revealed his righteousness to every nation!

3 He has remembered his promise to love and be faithful to Israel.

The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.

4 Shout to the Lord, all the earth;

break out in praise and sing for joy!

5 Sing your praise to the Lord with the harp,

with the harp and melodious song,

6 with trumpets and the sound of the ram’s horn.

Make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King!

7 Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!

Let the earth and all living things join in.

8 Let the rivers clap their hands in glee!

Let the hills sing out their songs of joy

9 before the Lord,

for he is coming to judge the earth.

He will judge the world with justice,

and the nations with fairness.

 

Conclusion: Through your life events, know God is not mad at , He’s got His hands open and reaching forward to you. Let Him lift you and let Him be the judge and giver of judgements.

 

HAVE YOU MADE YOUR COMIITTMENT FOR ETERNITY? HAVE YOU ENTERED INTO A LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST? PONDER THIS AND WEIGH IT OUT. GOD WANTS TO BE IN A LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH . HE WANTS TO LOVE YOU AND DAILY COMMUNICATE WITH YOU.

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

Abundant Life Lessons Today's Ingredient: "No Matter What Mentality"

SPIRITUAL FULFILLMENT AND GOD'S PROMISES

John 10:10 -The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

DEFINE ABUNDANT: Perissios: exceedingly, very highly, beyond measure, more, superfluous, a quantity so abundant as to be considerably more than what one would expect or anticipate.

Eph 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

1 Co 2:9 However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived"- the things God has prepared for those who love him-

GOD LOVES YOU AND I LOVE YOU.

This LAY WITNESS HAD A DIFFERENT LOVE

Mar 12:29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

Mar 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

IT IS IMPORTANT WHO I MARRY

-RELATIONSHIPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT

MARK12:31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these."

Love definitions:

AGAPE OR PHILEO. -LOVE SHAPES OVER THE YEARS.

  1. ABUNDANT LIFE. GOD GIVES THE RIGHT PARENTS.WE DID NOT GET TO DECIDE, IT’S PART OF OUR BLOODLINE THAT HELPS US CHOOSE CHRIST. WHETHER WE WERE BORN INTO A GODLY HOME, A CULT, OR A FAMILY FULL OF LOVE. EACH SITUATION UNIQUELY HAS THE ABILITY TO HELP US FOLLOW  ABUNDANCE "FOR INSTANCE, A GREAT GRANDFATHER… HE LOVED GOD. THEN THERE WERE THE PARENTS. BOTH WERE CHRISTIANS.” (THIS FORMED A GODLY MENTALITY AND PRESENCE IN THE FAMILY)

  2. THE NAZARITE..I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT LORDSHIP MEANT AT THAT TIME BUT SOMEHOW I KNEW THAT I WANTED TO HONOR GOD.-SO I SAID “NO” TO MANY THINGS. See PSALM 139:16-17

Psa 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psa 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!

EXAMPLE: THE LAY WITNESS MISSION WAS FOREVER CHANGED, ON APRIL 3, 1971. IT WAS A NEW RELATION -AN ABUNDANT LIFE IN CHRIST STARTED.

“ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE AS MUCH OF YOURSELF AS YOU CAN TO AS MUCH OF GOD AS YOU UNDERSTAND?”. From LIFE LESSONS?”

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Personal example-

“WHEN I WAS INVITED HERE THE

YOUTH GROUP WAS ON FIRE!” -met my wife HERE at GM.

 ABUNDANT LIFE. “I  CHOSE THE RIGHT WIFE………WHEN GOD SAID “NO”TO ONE GIRL, I CHOSE THE RIGHT ONE.

“The second most important decision I would ever make after salvation.”

Gen 2:18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

2 Cor 6:14 “ Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?”

ASK SEEK AND KNOCK

Mat 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Mat 7:8 "For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“MY WIFE AND I WERE EQUALLY YOKED!”

3. ABUNDANT LIFE

GOD INSPIRED IDEAS IN MY LIFE AS A CRAFTSMAN

Exo 31:1 “Then the LORD said to Moses, Exo 31:2 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, Exo 31:3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills- Exo 31:4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, Exo 31:5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.”

“I HAD LOTS OF TIME WITH MY THOUGHTS AND IDEAS AS A YOUNG PERSON.”

Deu 28:1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. Deu 28:2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:

Deu 28:9 The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and waik in obedience to him. Deu 28:10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you. Deu 28:11 The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground-in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. Deu 28:12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse £his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations h-t will borrow from none. Deu 28:13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

4. ABUNDANT LIFE. THE RIGHT CHURCH, THE RIGHT CHOICES. - GOD HAD US LEAVE THE CHURCH WE GREW UP IN. ABUNDANT LIFE, IT LEADS TO THE CALLING OF GOD.

5. ABUNDANT LIFE. THERE WERE SPIRITUAL LEADERS INFLUENCES IN MY LIFE.

6. ABUNDANT LIFE.TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME. – EVEN THROUGH CHALLENGES WE HAVE, LIKE SERIOUS ILLNESS.

Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “”Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Jas 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, Jas 1:3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Jas 1:4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

“One thing l’ve learned from designing equipment is that it has to be tested. We have tried many things over and over and every time we learn from the test how to make something better. I think that is why God tests us.  Look in the Bible and see how many times He allowed His children to be tested. How it winds up being for the good!”

Abraham, Jacob, Job,Joseph, David, etc.

Key Passage- James 1:2

"My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can!"

Key Point- This requires a “Different Mindset”

 THE Secret “sauce” in this recipe is the “No Matter What Mindset”.

We spend so much time running from our trials

TRIALS-They have a purpose.

Hebrews 11:6. Without God it is impossible to please God. 

 JESUS HAD THE NO MATTER WHAT MINDESET.

Hebrews 12:2  "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”.

PAUL HAD THIS KIND OF MINDSET.

Philippians 4:11-12  I have learned to be content no matter what happens to me 

It is the testing of your faith that develops perseverance in you.

Some things, like aging…you can’t fix. The strength of Christ’s Power, allows us to overcome trials.

All faith heroes mentioned in Hebrews 11 had this mindset.

Hebrews 11:39-40 GNT  "What a record all of these have won by their faith! Yet they did not receive what God had promised, because God had decided on an even better plan for us; only together with us would they be made perfect."      

 James 1:2, 3 “ My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure.”

Trials are not random!

1. Trials are instruments for growing in our faith in God.

2. Trials reveal the genuineness of your faith.

3. Trials are a God-given opportunity to develop inner strength and character.

4. View your trials as a chance for growth not an obstacle .

Look at your current struggle in a different way. Consider it as a chance to go deeper!

James 1 Trials =perseverance = maturity

​

1 Maintain a positive attitude of faith by practicing faithfulness.

2 Repent of thoughts of unbelief. Make sure you are in alignment with God. We must bring it under the obedience of God.

3 Bind up your thoughts

4 Look for God’s intended purpose.

5. Trials push us to rely more fully on God cultivating a deeper trust in Him.

Ask the Holy Spirit how you are to grow from this circumstance.

We can’t outrun or avoid the issues that come our way.

Example. We must take our slice, our trials, and we should “chew on it”. God knows what’s coming your way. He allows us to grow deeper in our relationship with Him.

Philippians 1:6 “He who began a good work in you…” God is bringing His will to completion

Romans 8:28. We know that all things God works together for YOUR good.

Decree:  I know that God is for me!!!! Why? Because that’s what HIS word says Romans 8:37-38 NIV. 

Nothing separates us from HIS love and concern. Don’t walk your trials alone or retreat from your fellow Christians. Find others to help you walk through life’s troubles. Not someone you want sympathy from. Find others who will keep you on the right track to overcoming these situations.

TODAY’S Ingredient for JOY in our series is- Contentment

​

Psalm 91

1.Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3. Contentment from the Joy of the Lord-

He joins himself to our spirits to declare that we are God’s children. Since we are his children, we will possess the blessings he keeps for his people, and we will also possess with Christ what God has kept for him; for if we share Christ’s suffering, we will also share his glory. I consider that what we suffer at this present time cannot be compared at all with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. All of creation waits with eager longing for God to reveal his children. For creation was condemned to lose its purpose, not of its own will, but because God willed it to be so. Yet there was the hope that creation itself would one day be set free from its slavery to decay and would share the glorious freedom of the children of God.” Romans 8:15-21 GNT

Key Thought- Promise To My children:

Be content to know-

“He will bring fathers and children together again; otherwise I would have to come and destroy your country.”  Malachi 4:6 GNT

Self-reflection

Relationships can be restored:

Restoration= to come home to a safe space.

Curse from the family/Generational curses can know Restoration.

“At last he came to his senses and said, ‘All my father’s hired workers have more than they can eat, and here I am about to starve! I will get up and go to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against God and against you. I am no longer fit to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired workers.”” Luke 15:17-19 GNT

-Prodigal returns home to family

An example of Restoration from man & God*

Like 15:20-22

He was a family heir

The father’s actions showed the son’s position: He gave and placed on him these items-Robe, Ring, shoes. These identified him as his son.

We are children of the King, We are identified by him as such.

God: ↑ Restores

God does all the heavy lifting, but I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE!!!

        In God’s Timing-

“Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 GNT

 

Keep Holding on to. God’s promise. Whatever place you are in find the contentment in God. Build relational restoration

John 10.10 TPT

"EVERYTHING in abundance, life in its fullness." Recipe: Today we are putting the next INGREDIENT in our Abundant Life.

Ps 16.11- “ I taste the fullness of Joy in your presence.”  Define Joy:

 1. It is a deep-seated, abiding state of well-being and delight, rooted in one's relationship with God and His promises.

2. A deep abiding sense of well-being that transcends circumstances.

Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)

“[Do not grieve], for the Joy of the Lord is your Strength.”

You have to keep doing what the Lord wants YOU to do. The Joy we refer you is GOD’S own Joy -not OUR definition of Joy.  Your Life is never be perfect until we transition to heaven. I.e. emotions that change are not TRUE JOY.

1 Joy is great medication for Discouragement!

2. When Joy comes, Strength is Activated.

3. This Joy must be experienced.

4. This Joy is above your circumstances.

How much and how often do you focus on your circumstances?

Benefits of Joy - Healing Spirit, Soul & Body:

Proverbs 17:22 (TPT) “A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.

Proverbs 17:22 (GNT) "Being cheerful keeps you healthy. It is slow death to be gloomy all the time." 

Prov 15:13  Proverbs 15:15

Cheerfulness joyful are choices. Its OUR choice not to grumble! Let the Joy of CHRIST shine, illuminate your day.

Physical Benefits of Experiencing Joy:

1. Promotes a healthier lifestyle.

2. Boosts immune system.

3. Fights stress and pain.

4. Supports longevity.We have to look BEYOND our circumstances.

 

1. What you say with your mouth impacts your heart.

2. Complaining actually embeds the negative feeling stronger in you.

3. Complaining is based on a feeling that we deserve to be treated better by God and people.

4. Wherever there is complaining, you can be sure that faith is no longer present.

5. Complaining is the language hell.

 We put our trust in GOD. Paul  walks this out in Philippians. Paul talks about Joy 18 times while in prison. He was in poisoned while writing the, “live a cheerful life without complaining or division among yourselves. Philippians 2:14

Anytime I'm complaining I've lost focus has left God's presence and focuses on my circumstances.

Question: Am I  living an joyful life?  

“A new measure of the Joy of the Lord is being poured out in this season. I am pouring out the oil of Joy.”

Nobody has a halo…we have to repent of negative thoughts.  A negative mindset.

Philippians 4:4 “May you always be joyful in your union with the Lord. I say it again: rejoice!” GNT

“Let your Joy overflow. This  current and relevant. God is pouring the oil of Joy on us at this time. God knows his people need this for what’s ahead!”
